This Saturday, May 3rd, the Errington Farmers Market will kick off its 41st Anniversary of Serving the Community! This season opens with a May Day Celebration at the Errington Community Park. There will be the Traditional May Pole Dance, with Live Music by Dan Miron in our Band Shelter. Head Wreaths/Halos Table. Organic Coffee and Delicacies at the Coffee Shop, always a line up! Bring your Camera and Enjoy.
An Errington tradition since 1973, the Errington Farmers Market serves to encourage the production and sale of local agricultural goods, to provide a venue for local cultural groups and individuals to demonstrate their artistry, and to foster an interest and pride within the community. “Market Day” isn’t just about buying and selling, it is about community spirit. Connecting people with fresh, local food and other hand crafted items, the Motto, “MAKE IT, BAKE IT OR GROW IT” says it all!
As a proud member of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets, all vendors must make, bake or grow the goods they have for sale. Vendor inquiries are welcome, but a limited number of spaces are available for non-farming vendors. They always have space for more farmers, including small scale and backyard growers, but due to the popularity of our market, we have a waiting list for all other vendors. To encourage Back-yard growers, we have a special smaller table rate for new, small vendors selling farm products or another option is to share a table with another vendor. Non-profit Clubs and Organizations may have a Free Table Space as long as we have notice in advance.
Seasonal produce, plants, fresh cut flowers, baked goods, jams and jellies, eggs, yarn, quality arts and crafts, such as pottery, tie-dyed clothing, art cards, jewelry, and needlework are just a few of the unique products that can be found at this amazing market – all are locally produced.
The Errington Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM, every Saturday from May 3rd to Sept. 27th, in The Errington Community Park, located at the corner of Veterans Road and Errington Rd.
